Your beloved SE Cupp has an undergrad degree in Art History from Cornell and is currently pursuing an MA at New York University! What is it djohnson? You can’t have it both ways, you can’t shower praise on Ms Cupp and in the same breath make sweeping generalizations about those “Liberal Cesspools” of higher education.

For well written satire, see Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal.” It’s taught in most colleges in English 101 to demonstrate the power of irony and satire to sway the masses into action. If you’re game, I’d be happy to provide you with an impromptu lesson on the nuanced definition of satire with some examples from the literary canon–a canon to which Ms. Cupp does not–and will never–belong.

Whatever you do, don’t take them seriously. Either ignore or ridicule, but never take them seriously.

“The mess Bush left” is NOTHING compared to the disaster that Obama is STILL creating, and he’s only been at it a year, and if it weren’t for “the Chicken-Little-obstructionism of the Republican party in the last year” it would be even worse than it is now!!!

This is very amusing in its hypocrisy. You are insisting that your preference for bourbon is genuine while the straman reader’s is showy — but by advertising your preference in this way, you are using it to prove something about yourself. That you are refined but still rugged, that you are intelligent but still tough, that you are more American than thou, that you are “old-school.”

But of course, the entire post is irrational, contrarian and arrogant. It’s silly to focus on only one line.
