Republicans have to apologize for their tenure under Bush and say how they will do things differently if they want to be elected in 2010. Blaming the economic mess on Obama will only work on the intellectually challenged.

Republicans spent like drunken sailors and grew government at an unprecedented pace. To claim now they are all about small government and fiscal responsibility without apologizing for losing their minds and their way in the past will fall, ultimately, on deaf ears.

Tea Partiers are tired of the Republican Party double speak. A Tsunami may be coming, but it is likely to sweep both parties old style politicians out of office. Bad news for Mitch McConnel, John Boener and others.

The election of President Obama was more an indictment of Bush than desire to see the current agenda foisted on us. However, the current administration treated that victory as an outright endorsement of their agenda, despite the fact that most American's had little or no idea what the administration was planning. Rahm framed the banking chaos as an opportunity, openly stating that such a crisis created unique mobility in our social structure, and that this flux could be exploited. Or as he put it, you should "never let a crisis go to waste".

But as Rahm's Big Bang strategy unfolded (do everything at once, and very, very quickly), it began to take on the appearance of a Bridge Too Far. Their once invincible position is Congress now looks shaky and the administration's poll numbers have taken an unprecedented drubbing. The president ran on a platform of change we can believe in but instead delivered the changes none of us wanted. Yet despite massive erosion in support, team Obama is acting like a tired wrestler, enduring the agony, determined to lock their grip and pin the opponent.

Ignoring the electorate is a very dangerous game, and one that has consequences. The Democratic Party are now running a very real risk of facing 2012 will a populist outcry to repeal the programs team Obama put in place.

Good luck with that. It will be a huge disaster for them if they in fact plan on doing this. We are now 3 years into a democratic congress and 1 year into a presidency that has done very little except point fingers about problems they claim Bush left them.
