Joedoe, I agree with you on the WTF. I’d rather mute the TV or turn it off and get a recap of the speech later on…. Just take every sentence or statement that comes out of the POTUS’s mouth and rotate it 180 degrees and you might come somewhere near the truth.

I’m from Florida and my husband and I made our first political contribution ever — to Scott Brown. We dug deep and gave as much as we could afford. I am not a registered Republican any longer but registered Independent. I do not necessarily align myself with the Tea Party Movement. However, I will support anyone who truly feels that bigger government is NOT the answer. This race is so important and it will definitely set the tone for the rest of the Congressional races in 2010. Wake up everyone and look at the bigger picture. This monstrosity of a health care bill is not about REFORM at all, but is about governmental control. The Federal government is like a huge octopus, and they want their tentacles to be far and deep reaching. Go Scott!!

It was Larry Summers who lead the charge on deregulating the banks creating the enviornment from which sprang things like mortage backed secuities. Let us not forget, that George Bush wrote a letter to congress in 2005 asking them to rain in Freddy and Fannie out of fear that failure to do so would lead to a housing bubble. When congress went to take action, legislation went no where because Chris Dodd and Barney Frank threatened to fillubuster any such action that altered the lending of Fannie and Freddy (this was when Dodd was getting “sweetheart” loans from Countrywide, and Frank was romanticly involved with an executive at Fannie Mae). Of course there is always Tim Geithner, the boy wonder charged with the awesome responsibility of cleaning up the mess, who presided over the entire meltdown as head of the New York Fed.
