Air America to cease live broadcasts and file for bankruptcy
Air America announced today that it’s declaring bankruptcy and ceasing its live broadcasts immediately. Here’s the statement posted on Air America’s website:
It is with the greatest regret, on behalf of our Board, that we must announce that Air America Media is ceasing its live programming operations as of this afternoon, and that the Company will file soon under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code to carry out an orderly winding-down of the business.
The very difficult economic environment has had a significant impact on Air America’s business. This past year has seen a “perfect storm” in the media industry generally. National and local advertising revenues have fallen drastically, causing many media companies nationwide to fold or seek bankruptcy protection. From large to small, recent bankruptcies like Citadel Broadcasting and closures like that of the industry’s long-time trade publication Radio and Records have signaled that these are very difficult and rapidly changing times.

The Republans would have their crap on the air 24/7, (wait they do, it’s called Limbaugh and Hannity…) sponsored by the big business that runs this country and now runs it even bigger with limitless SCOTUS freedom to buy politics. Who will pay for the truth? Democratic party members are poor, and can’t “Buy” airtime so the show has to cancel.

It’s called free market supply and demand which you Liberals don’t quite get. The majority of Americans don’t want to listen to their crap, all Air America did was complain constantly. Bush, Cheney, Haliburton, Conservatives FOX and some more Bush the exact same model as they employ over there on MSNBC. You seem to think the majority of Americans are Liberals, all 20% of em’.
Does this mean that dude Maddow can’t go back to his old job if things don’t work out at MSNBC?
