Cato Institute scholars sat down yesterday to address several items in President Obama’s first official State of the Union Address, which they called simultaneously “Clintonian” and reminiscent of George W. Bush’s last few addresses. The scholars, including Daniel J. Mitchell, Mark A. Calabria, Neal McCluskey, Michael D. Tanner, John Samples, Jim Harper and Malou Innocent, discussed everything from bailouts to spending freezes to stimulus bills to education grants.
