Unions have priced themselves right out of jobs and have contributed to the destruction of our economy. This LEFTIST NUTWAD, Barack Obama, is evidently getting a lot of pressure from these UNION THUGS for the paybacks they were promised by this "president." He "owes" them for the 75-100 MILLION dollars they contributed to his campaign. He is willing to override Congress, the Constitution and the people of this country to pay these thugs off! I smell an IMPEACHMENT coming when Republicans take back the House next November. Can't come soon enough for me. Bye-bye Barry, and good freaking riddance!

The guy (company) that performs the best (including price) gets the job - that's the American way. Competition fuels productivity, the best producers get paid the highest wage. If the unions thought they could equal up to the self-employed, they wouldn't be asking for rule changes that only benefit them. They need to cheat so they can survive, and can only "compete" using a stacked deck. Capitalism vs. Socialism GO USA !!

world market is tough on America's economy. We can not compete with companies that hire less than minimum wage employees and offer NO benefits plus they work 16 hr shifts. how can an owner of an American company offering a service or product compete? When they are held to such high standards and expected to pay high wages and offer outrages benefits? We need to make it harder for imported products and service to even the playing field. Wal-mart shoppers could care less that some under age Chinese kid worked for 15 cents an hour to make that 5 dollar shirt they are purchasing. they see a good deal and go for it. American can't continue on this way unless we want to get down in the dirt and work for nothing.

Unions are one of the big reasons Companies are moving out of this country. Its nice to picture this utopia work force where you get these benefits and the security that your JOB will take care of you until you die. But, as it is in many other areas of life it just isn't possible and an employer really shouldn't have to provide anymore than what they can with the exception to health insurance and sick leave/vacation. Unions also promote unproductive behavior when it's next to impossible to fire someone and your achievements mean nothing to get you ahead but your tenor does. Who wants to be in court over every move they make..they give in. that isn't the American dream folks. Company owners shouldn't always be made out to be the Villains.

In theory, I thinks it's always a good idea for an employer to pay livable wages, benefits and some sort of retirement plan, especially the big companies. I worked in a small business (8 employees) that did government contracts and they paid very good wages, benefits, but no pensions type plans. The Feds shouldn't hold small businesses to the same standards as big ones. Give the struggling small business a chance.
Of course this has nothing to do with the fact that I was a member of SEIU for years and I hate them. They're the most corrupt union I've belonged to.
