I guess we should have waited, but we didn’t. Murtha was a fine Marine. He also “porked” up enough bills to pay the national debt. He was as corrupt as the day is long. He also provided his district with some damn fine benefits too.

No it doesn’t absolve but do you not give any respect for his service during the Vietnam war. I disagree with his politics, and as a youth I don’t know if he joined as a liberal, but HE did defend our country, and I think he is worthy of that respect.

Now if you were to ask me about his congressional record, or his downward spiral towards our troops, I would say he acted shamefully, and I have said that but a person is many parts and on the day of his death I honor his service during the Vietnam War.

A few thoughts from a daughter of a military service member who died in service to our country. Ft. Leavenworth, KS.

man I hate what I am about to think “out loud”….(but he does it anyway)….I guess technically Benedict Arnold served his country too….I know, I know, its different but the thing is that serving your country in the military does not absolve you of future sins and transgressions…and transgress he did.

Good riddance to them both. The world’s better off without them. The Dems are literally dieing to get away from Obama. I hear ol’ “Sheets” Byrd has about had it, too.

2) “Murtha had recently undergone gallbladder surgery at Bethesda Naval Hospital and had developed an infection.”

Does not bode well for Government provided Healthcare.

Yes, he made some deplorable remarks, however I would imagine that during his time of military service he did right by his fellow service member’s. I am not excusing his behavior in the HOUSE but I am saying that he did serve honorably in the US Military.

If you serve honorably, you do not throw your fellow brothers in arms under the bus to score political points. As a Pennsylvanian, I am sad that someone has died, but glad the Commonwealth will not longer have to deal with Congressman Murtha’s politics.

A few thoughts, as someone who has served in the military, come’s from a military family, I do offer my appreciation on his service to his country.

Whether you disagree, agree with his politics, he did serve and that is worthy of note.

It is equally important that if you are going to discuss one’s accomplishments/service in congress that it be about the truth. He did acquire a lot for HIS constituents but at his fellow taxpayer’s hand. He did love his pork.

Again, I have my differences with Murtha, but I do salute his service to our country and prayer’s go to his family.

If these are unpopular thoughts, swing away.

Murtha was a disgrace to this country. I respect nothing about this thief. He represents the very worst of this country. I will not stand silently while people defend Murtha-the-traitor because of his military service. May he always be remembered for his traitorous and defamatory statement that U.S. Marines purposely murdered women and children in cold blood. Burn in Hell, Murtha.
