Also, the fact that Ryan supported ALL of Obama's boondoggles and BIG SPENDING, BIG GOVT ideas counts him out as an opponent to Obama in 2012. How can the GOP argue that Obama's action worsened the economy if we nominate Paul Ryan -- who supported it all --- to oppose him? STAY OUT OF THE RACE RYAN!

He wouldn't ever be my choice for President. People who don't understand free-market economics should not be allowed to run for office.

Can we get a constitutional amendment on this? It would end a lot of the hocus-pocus in Washington and put an end to the urges of these people to try and appear empathetic to the folks back home while they spend other people's money we don't even have and have to make our grandchildren responsible for paying back.

Well he voted for TARP because he thought the alternative would be worse, and he didn't think they'd use it for everything, and he trusted them not to. Then they did anyhow.

And he voted for the bailout because they said they'd use TARP otherwise, and he didn't want that... so he trusted them not to. Then they did anyhow... again.

"I voted for that to prevent precisely what has happened, which I feared would happen." I voted to stop exactly what happened... and the side I voted for won... really?

That indicates either what you were voting for was meaningless, or you have no idea of what you're voting on in the first place. Which of those was I supposed to read that? And which indicates this is a good thing?

I agree devnull. Even the President recognized how he takes his job seriously and that he had some good ideas. Which is why I think he hinted to the Dems not to attack Ryan because he is on to something. I like him and I think he should be supported. The GOP needs to stop letting the far Right hijack their party.

Whoops.

I meant devnull. Cripes. I write something about "critical thinking" and I misspell your name! Color me a jackass!

Either way. I liked your comment.

debnull,

Very good. The first time I heard Paul Ryan was on the Laura Ingramm show and I thought..."here is a guy who gets it"...people in this country are so quick to put someone on a pike if they do not pass legislation EXACTLY the way they want it have it done the way they THINK it should be done. Where have people's minds gone? I am quite certain critical thinking is a lost art. This country is indeed so polarized that it's hard to fathom where we will go as a nation if we don't find common ground with one another. Get's tiring doesn't it?

Great insight.
