“If could create one job in the private sector by helping to grow a business,” Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh said today, “that would be one more than Congress has created in the last six months.” The remarks underscore the frustration evident in Bayh’s stunning speech yesterday, in which he announced he would not be running for re-election: “I love working for the people of Indiana. I love helping our citizens make the most of their lives,” he said. “But I do not love Congress.”
Bayh, it must be noted, voted for the nearly trillion-dollar stimulus plan that was designed to create jobs.
