The changes keep coming for NBC in late night. The latest: Kevin Eubanks, the longtime bandleader for Jay Leno, is leaving that partnership.

Mr. Eubanks has told colleagues on the show that he will definitely leave his post as leader of what will be a reconstituted “Tonight Show” band (after their brief run as the “Prime Time Band” while Mr. Leno had his 10 p.m. weeknight show) after an interim transition period starting March 1.

That’s when Mr. Leno will return to “Tonight,” after the departure last month of Conan O’Brien. Mr. Eubanks is in the process of working out the exact terms of his departure, a colleague on the show said, and no specific date is set yet for his last night with Mr. Leno.
