CPAC speaker roundly booed for condemning gay invite [video]
Speaker Ryan Sorba triggered a shouting match at the Conservative Political Action Conference earlier today when he condemned the conference’s decision to invite conservative gay group GoProud to the event. Sorba suggested that homosexuality is unnatural and that civil rights only extend to “natural rights.”
Sorba then challenged those who shouted at him to “sit down” by comparing them to the lesbian activist protesters that stormed the podium shortly after his speech at Smith College nearly two years ago. Smith was promoting his book The Born Gay Hoax at the time.
Note, though, that just before Ryan Sorba was booed off stage for condemning CPAC for inviting gay group GoPride to the event, Students for Liberty’s Alexander McCobin was shouted down for praising the group’s invite. The incident underscores how divided CPAC attendees are on the issue of homosexuality — though, of course, far more shouted in favor of McCobin than against him.

I think it was one person booing.
*booing McCobin, that is.
I stand in support of the ladies who were brave enough to shout down hate at CPAC this year. And to the posters here who feel homosexuality is not natural, to those who feel gays would not serve their country well if allowed to openly, and to those who think allowing gays to marry will lead to their family members screwing goats, I dedicate this song to you.

Yeah, well, just wait until the Gays become the majority, and see how they treat the straights. And politicians will rant and rave about whether straights should have voting rights, and whether the party ‘purity’ tests should allow folks who ’stick their thingeys in the thingeys of other sexes’ should be allowed to join, and whether the schools should permit children to be exposed to different-sex couples, and…OMG! The Churches!! What will they ever do to make the fable of Adam and Eve acceptable?
Couldn’t help but bring up the obvious: when gays become the majority, keeping the human race alive and well will be a challenge . . .:)
Wow, them CPACers, they have a way to go with their party-building techniques. So far, they only three people they haven’t p**sed-off are Beck, Paul, and Sarah-the-Simp. What’re they gonna do when they whittle that list down to just one? Support that ONE as their standard-bearer? And quietly follow the republicans and democrats to oblivion?
I’m not gay. I have gay friends. I am a Christian. I understand what the bible says. I am an American. They too are American. They should not have any rights withheld by America. Any church however can withhold their rites and privileges from them.
This part of the culture war will not be won by the right. It is also not that important in the scheme of things.
Does that mean I have a ‘right’ to marry my goat?
At least you’d have a partner that can relate to you intellectually.
