And politicians will rant and rave about whether straights should have voting rights, and whether the party ‘purity’ tests should allow folks who ‘stick their thingeys in the thingeys of other sexes’ should be allowed to join, and whether the schools should permit children to be exposed to different-sex couples, and…OMG! How about the stalking (and in some cases, firing) of people who supported Prop 8 in California? How about the vile attacks on the Mormon church for it’s support, when the only reason Prop 8 passed was because of minority Obama voters who overwhelmingly supported it? Interestingly, gay activists were happy to smear and attack religious groups and private citizens, but completely uninterested in addressing why Blacks and Hispanics thought Prop 8 was a good idea.

Seriously, if you are asking me to prove that gay right’s protesters can be extremely hateful, you’re either doing it to annoy me, or you’re completely uninformed. Try YouTube some time and quit wasting our time with your drivel.

Why exactly would I want to “ration” a fear? I might rationalize one, but it would be more constructive to explain that marriage is an institution whose sole goal is promotion of the family and raising children in a stable environment. Expanding the definition to include people who can’t have children (or eventually expanding it further to include group marriages) is an unnecessary step that accomplishes nothing. If gay people want to get “married,” nothing is stopping them. They can’t obtain a certificate from the state, but I’m at a loss as to why it is important in the first place.

What is needed however, is legislation to make sure that all couples share the same rights. A heterosexual couple doesn’t deserve any extra rights that a homosexual couple doesn’t get. California has already addressed this, and it should become law in all 50 states.

Now could you explain where fear plays into any of that?

I’m not gay. I have gay friends. I am a Christian. I understand what the bible says. I am an American. They too are American. They should not have any rights withheld by America. Any church however can withhold their rites and privileges from them.

This part of the culture war will not be won by the right. It is also not that important in the scheme of things.

I know you’re a scientist and all, but “homophobic” would mean to be afraid of homosexuality. Could you please explain how calling it unnatural (despite the fact that it obviously is unnatural because doing it can’t advance the species, which is the very essence of nature) is equated with being afraid?

Seems that your science mostly consists of you reading people’s minds and making huge leaps of logic. I guess you could be a climate scientist after all.

OK, I obviously made the mistake of assuming you were a serious person wishing to discuss the issues. Evidently I was wrong and apologize.

Since you can’t seem to actually read, let me repeat what I said…..Saying that homosexuality is “natural” because animals do it is stupid. Animals also have sex with animals outside their species. They forcibly have sex with smaller animals. They have sex within their immediate family. They have multiple partners. If that’s your idea of where humanity should go, then you should probably say that up front.

If you’ve never seen cross-species mating, then maybe you should check YouTube (or World’s Funniest Home Videos). It should take about 10 seconds to find examples. The fact that you would state something so utterly ridiculous tells me you have no interest in a serious discussion. You’re just looking to pretend everyone who doesn’t agree with you must be some kind of Right-wing bigot, then tailor your arguments to prove that strawman. Too bad.

Yeah, religion is the bane of everyone’s existence. Just tell that to the millions who’ve been saved by Christians (among others) trying to do as they are instructed by the Bible. Add to that the hundreds of millions in the US alone that are comforted by their faith.

We’ll contrast that with the tens of millions that have been killed or left to die by Leftist ideologies throughout the 20th century. Go ahead and start your plus/minus columns, Mr. Scientist.
