Breitbart confronts Max Blumenthal for James O’Keefe smear [video]
For those wondering why Andrew Breitbart went nuclear at this year’s CPAC conference, Max Blumenthal had this to say over at Salon earlier this week about conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe:
[O'Keefe's] right-wing admirers don’t seem to mind that O’Keefe’s short but storied career has been defined by a series of political stunts shot through with racial resentment. Now an activist organization that monitors hate groups has produced a photo of O’Keefe at a 2006 conference on “Race and Conservatism” that featured leading white nationalists…
According to One People’s Project founder Daryle Jenkins, O’Keefe was manning the literature table at the gathering that brought together anti-Semites, professional racists and proponents of Aryanism.
Blumenthal also wrote on his blog: “Now, here is a question Breitbart: Why are you paying and defending a racist?”
The comment, as Blumenthal admits in this clip only after some prodding from Larry O’Connor, is a reference to O’Keefe.
The problem is that Blumenthal, as conference attendee Dave Weigel has pointed out, appears to have made numerous factual errors in his article. Short version: O’Keefe never manned any tables, never sided with any white supremacists, and never attended any conference devoted to white supremacy. He merely attended a debate that included several speakers and attendees, one of whom was a black man who insisted O’Keefe supported his positions.
Still, it seems plenty of people bought Blumenthal’s story that Breitbart and O’Keefe are racists:
Blumenthal, the son of Clinton administration presidential aide Sidney Blumenthal, wasn’t Breitbart’s only target at CPAC. He also referred to New York Times reporter Kate Zernike as a “despicable human being” for implying that conservatives were using racism to turn the youth vote against President Obama.

I saw this coming during the campaign for President. Why do you think that John McCain lost. Those in the African American community were promised Change and Hope and they voted blindly for it. Just like the citizens of Germany in the 1930’s voted Adolf Hitler into Government, he promised Hope and Change and look how that went, he over reached and wanted to retaliate against all those countries that had “crushed” the German Peoples after WWI. Studies have revealed that Germany would have won that conflict but Kaiser Wilhelm gave up the effort because of the casualty counts. And Hitler played on that with the people. Just like Obama did with his 50% African heritage.
I could tell that change was coming and race baiting would be on the increase because of what happened to Hillary Clinton in the Democratic Primary race. It is the Chicago way. And the advisors around him are just like the advisors around Hitler put him in positions that he could not back down from, Rahm Emanuel comes to mind. It was retaliatory Progressive Anti-Semites that brought in American Progressives to embolden the German Progressive movement inside the National Socialist Party (NAZI) that put him on the Worlds list of Despotic Dictators, would he have done this on his own we will never know unless there is a way to go into a parallel universe and time travel… So that will be an answer for God to answer…
This is a perfect example of African racism.

This just in: NY Times Reporter Kate Zernike claims that Breitbart’s use of the word “Buddy” in responding to an African-American provocateur is some kind of racist code word or something.
At a certain point, the general public is going to tire of the race baiting. The explaination for every single criticism of Obama can’t be that the critic is a klansman. Honestly, I think this is the reason for the decline of Obamamania, the left leaning media over reached (and are still over reaching) with the all dissent is racism meme.
As long as the accused defend themselves, as Breitbart has, let them cry wolf. It certainly hasn’t helped Obama (or the MSM ratings).
Also, throw pies (ala Soupey Sales) at these pious pinkos
I’m sure Blumenthal showed up at CPAC in clean underwear (because his mommy always asks), but I’m positive he didn’t leave in them.
You know how we always wonder what would happen if “they said that to our faces” about internet punditry. Now we know.
