Calling the trillion-dollar stimulus bill a “common sense approach to doing what’s right,” Republican governor Charlie Crist appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe this morning to insist that there was “no way” he would lose his upcoming Senate primary fight with Republican Marco Rubio. Crist also said he doesn’t regret hugging President Obama at a pro-stimulus rally last year.
Rubio, a former state House Speaker, leads Crist by 18 points in a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely Republican primary voters, and Rubio has been gaining ground on Crist for several weeks. If there’s any good news in all this for Crist’s sakes (!), it’s that the Florida primary isn’t until late August.
