The Daily Caller Cigar Review: Cuban Crafters Cubano Claro Churchill

Made by Cuban Crafters, a Miami-based boutique manufacturer, the Cubano Claro is a unique cigar. Its reddish-yellow Connecticut wrapper is made from desflorado tobacco—a leaf that’s especially difficult to grow because it requires its buds to be plucked before they flower to give the tobacco a rich, smooth taste.

The cigar’s distinctive profile includes notes of onion, olive, and bread. Slightly dry yet well-balanced, the medium-bodied flavor then transitions to creamy nuts and milk chocolate. Adding to the enjoyment of the Cubano Claro are its excellent combustion qualities. The smoke is cool and voluminous, the burn is even, and the draw is clear.

Cuban Crafters has a knack for producing outstanding, underpriced cigars. This is no exception. The seven-inch Churchill size costs $6.50 apiece when bought by the cedar humidor box of 20. That’s an excellent value that should be taken advantage of if you’re looking for something a little different.
