Great Question!

Why not ask Nancy Pelosi? Or the President?

Because they aren’t dealing with the problem, are they?

As you have aptly pointed out, the cost of insurance will still be unaffordable even if every insurance company is seized by the state and their executives thrown in jail!

Hope and Change!

But don’t let that little factoid deter your enthusiasm for blaming insurance companies for hospitals, drugs, medical supplies and skilled labor being extremely expensive. And since this “reform” package does absolutely nothing to address costs but instead send even more subsidies their way (in order to buy off endorsements from doctors and pharmaceutical companies) by all means – scream “injustice” even louder! maybe we can waterboard insurance company executives! That would really stir up some passions, wouldn’t it?!

But it won’t lower the cost of health care. Nor will this “reform” package.

Preaching to the choir is always a good way to get your point across.Maybe he should go to the border and pitch this to the illeagals on their way into the country.Obamas ego is treated like a national treasure,it’s like setting up ducks for a prize fighter who’s not so good.Of course there were those knock-outs in the olympic bidding and the last three elections where he intervened,massachusettes had to be brutal.

Is it profit that you loathe, or the free market in general?

Check it out: The health insurance industry operates on minuscule margins, when compared to other industries.

If the profit of corporations is your target, might I suggest your focusing your attentions on the following?

“Big” Beer: 26%
“Big” Software: 22%
“Big” Tobacco: 17%
“Big” Networking: 16%
“Big” Toiletries: 12%
“Big” Wine: 12%
“Big” Telephone: 9%
“Big” Shoe: 6%
“Big” Sports: 6%
“Big” Auto Parts: 6%
“Big” Soda: 6%
.
.
.
“Big” Health Insurance: 3%

Doesn’t look so “Big” by comparison, does it?

In fact, there are scores of industries whose profit margins are (up to ten times) greater than that of health insurance, yet we don’t have the statist politicians and their uninformed disciples raging at the “outrageous profits” of “Big Beer.”

You’re being thrown a red herring by a president desperate to avoid becoming inconsequential. (Good luck with that, Mr. President.)

If you eliminate the Eeeeeveeeel Health Insurance companies, that premium would go down a maximum of $545.23.”

–You’re right, I’m sure a family making $36,000 per year can WELL afford 1/3 of it to go to “insurance”. As long as you’re “crunching numbers”, what percentage of income do YOU recommend?

“A large group of protesters gathered outside the president’s speech, while inside an auditorium he spoke to a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters, most of whom appeared to be college students.”

The protesters were largely Tea Party types. Their ranks are mostly older people who are close to getting socialized medicine through Medicare. The younger people are the ones getting screwed over by the Insurance Industry.

I know which side I’m on.

Does the GOP plan to defend the outrageous profit-taking by Big Insurance?
