The desk in the Oval Office represents the history, tradition, and fidelity of we the people to an ideal. How does it feel to be used as a foot stool for "The One?" Obama has also shunned neckties on many serious or solemn occasions. That tells me he has a rather relaxed attitude towards his job and would designate every day "casual" if he thought he could get away with it. Serious men like Reagan and Bush, would not enter the Oval Office without a suit and tie because they were awed and humbled by it's significance. This current occupant believes everything and everyone should be awed and humbled by his mere presence. And he and his ilk complained about W's hubris.... I agree, totally.
