Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger was admitted to a hospital in Seoul, South Korea, on Saturday after complaining of a severe stomach ache, hospital staff sources said.
A special medical team did an examination and MRI scan and took X-rays, but they found nothing serious, the staff sources at Severance Hospital in northern Seoul said.
Kissinger, 86, will remain at the hospital overnight and will probably be released Sunday, they said.
The state-run Yonhap news agency reported that Kissinger arrived in the South Korean capital Wednesday for a security forum and met with President Lee Myung-bak on Friday.
