I have to add….Paul Ryan has been a rock in this debate. He made an impassioned plea today at the budget hearing! My question is where are all of the other Republican Congressmen? Why are they not out EVERYWHERE making the same arguments? Get your butts out there and fight for the American people you represent! There are no cost caps anywhere. The Health Care Industry is already bloated with subsidies from the US Government, with Medicare supplying half their revenue. To get the AMA deal, Obama et al removed cost containment.

They can drive up costs all they want. And now demand will rise even higher. Whereas people who chose to “pay as you go” instead of buy insurance will now be forced into insurance, they will want their money’s worth.

Supply – unchanged. Demand – increased. Cost controls – removed.

Can anyone guess what will happen?

“So if this bill passes, those of you who can’t get insurance because of pre-existing conditions will be able to get insurance.” What they aren’t telling you is that apparently there are no cost caps on that, so yea you can get insurance, but it will probably cost you 75,000.00 per year. SWEET!

I have the same impression. That the passage of this legislation will mean the end of the Democrats as we know them. It will tarnish the brand at a level that will take years, if not decades, to repair. The people will consider they cannot be trusted with large majorities and the next presidential candidate from the party will have to have credentials that go way beyond a nice story and the power of oratory. But I guess it is only me.

Given that scrappy-o has abandoned all critical thinking skills and still supports “Hope and Change”, I am happy that s/he feels so secure. that means it is apt to fail even more epically than all of the other Obama initiatives.

They said the same thing about Obama going to Copenhagen to pitch Chicago’s bid for hosting the Olympics.

“He wouldn’t be going if he didn’t already have it in the bag.”

“He wouldn’t lend the prestige of the office to something that wasn’t a sure bet.”

“It’s his tour-de-force achievement that his ascension has entitled him to demand.”

If they had the votes it would already be done.

But…

Rules are not important in progressive politics. Remember, when it comes to liberals, the ends are the only thing with meaning. How you got there can be recast later by simply revising the history of the time when it is convenient and nobody is looking. Look for the Slaughter Rule to offer the solace they crave. These people would have been very comfortable in Hitler’s Reichstag or Caesar’s Senate. Every corrupter believes they are the master puppeteer, but only one person can pull the strings. Who will have the privilege while all the other corrupters are being fed to the dragon?

We also have a very large economy; it would be hard to turn down an Obama bribe. Obama is willing to pay any price (using your money) so the issue of being able to buy votes is not to be underestimated. Liberals have no core principles beyond being able to dictate policy without having to be responsible for the consequences of their decisions, so there is nothing wrong (in their world) with buying votes – just don’t get caught.

It will get done. They have come this far and they are not going to let something as stupid as money, rules or democracy get in the way of their ultimate goal; perpetual political power. This is their time.

This could be our Waterloo; not theirs.
