If you’re like most people in America, your bracket’s totally busted. If you’re teenager Alex Hermann, you’re the proud owner of the only perfect bracket in the nation.
It’s a pretty amazing feat. Who could have ever imagined that Kansas would miss the Sweet 16, or that an Ivy League team would make it? When people were choosing their Final Four not too long ago, most expected the tournament seeds to hold up pretty well – not so.
Then again, that’s why the tournament’s called March Madness and not March Blandness. These wild upsets are what make the tournament so transfixing and exciting.
