Health-care law may revoke insurance coverage for members of Congress and their staffers
In a new report, the Congressional Research Service says the law may have significant unintended consequences for the “personal health insurance coverage” of senators, representatives and their staff members.
For example, it says, the law may “remove members of Congress and Congressional staff” from their current coverage, in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, before any alternatives are available.
The confusion raises the inevitable question: If they did not know exactly what they were doing to themselves, did lawmakers who wrote and passed the bill fully grasp the details of how it would influence the lives of other Americans?

They had to read the bill to find out what was in it.

[For a light hearted take on our present peril]
“May” in the article means “might,” as in the law, when enacted, might remove the legislators and staffers from their plans. It does not mean “has the [arbitrary] power to do so.” The reporter was not suggesting that the congressmen/women would be shaken down or threatened with removal. That just isn’t how it works.
I guess everyone who voted on the bill should just get a medicaid card have them go find a doctor that takes it…. give it to them with a roll of toilet paper, see which has more value.
I’ll pay a premium for some Charmin Ultra Strong.
Its a control mechanism, they use it if Congress doesnt do what its told to do.
So right now the Dems can threaten the Rep’s if they dont do vote the way they are told to vote…
If you read what it says. It says members of Congress and Congressional staff may be removed from their current coverage. In other words. If members of Congress and or their Congressional staff do not toe a certain line, then they will be removed from the Congressional health insurance and they will have to buy their own health insurance, just like the rest of the serfs(voters).
