The Midwest Airlines name will cease to exist through a plan to merge the brand with its affiliated carrier, Frontier Airlines of Denver.
Management of Midwest’s parent company, Indianapolis-based Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: RJET), revealed details of the long-awaited brand merger Tuesday morning during a news conference at the Midwest Airlines’ maintenance hangar in Milwaukee. Republic bought Midwest and Frontier in separate deals last year.
