President Obama released a video today calling his coalition together, in the hopes of winning the 2010 midterm elections for the Democratic Party. In the video, Mr. Obama calls the “young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women who powered our victory in 2008 [to] stand together once again.” Interestingly enough, the President makes no efforts to reach out to other groups of Americans in his pitch to elect Democrats in November. The focus appears to be on a narrow swath of liberal voters, instead of the traditional focus on Middle America.
The video will be released by Organizing for America, a branch of the Democratic National Committee and the foundation of President Obama’s 2008 fundraising operation. This message will be sent out to the roughly 13 million people who are supporters of the President, in the hopes of firing up the liberal base.
