The city will pay $65,000 to settle a lawsuit by a Queens woman who was pepper-sprayed by an NYPD cop after she dashed down an up-only subway staircase, the Daily News has learned.
Naeema Screven was trying to catch a train when she cut over to the forbidden side of the staircase to bypass a crush of commuters at the Broadway station in Brooklyn, according to her complaint filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.
