Detroit — Gov. Jennifer Granholm signed a three-bill package today making Michigan the 24th state to ban text messaging while driving.
The signing, during a rally at the Wintergarden at GM’s Renaissance Center, will be broadcast later today on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” which will air a safe driving rally.
“Driving while texting is the ultimate distraction,” Granholm said. “You lose the use of both your eyes and your hands.”
