Robert Pattinson’s singing aspirations

Given the recent success of Glee (even Coldplay is now allowing the television phenomenon use their songs!), can other entertainers find success with both acting and singing? Robert Pattinson seems to think so.

According to MTV News, the “Twilight” actor has big plans to enter the music industry. Pattinson, who enjoyed singing and songwriting pre-“Twilight,” says that he has “bought a couple new guitars” and is trying his hand at writing again. Pattinson reports that living without music “drives him crazy.”

Disney’s latest prodigy

Selena Gomez, the 17-year-old star of the Disney Channel show “Wizards of Waverly Place,” currently has a single out called “Naturally.” This bubble gum pop princess might make music that’s fairly generic, but her fans from the Disney Channel eat it right up. In fact, according to The Examiner, she has a new single coming out called “Round and Round” that will debut on Friday.

Miley Mania

Last, but certainly not least, is Miley Cyrus. Miley, also known as Selena Gomez’s Disney predecessor-turned-provocative-songstress, has been generating plenty of drama recently, as always. The teen star’s music career is gaining success, but not necessarily for the right reasons.

In response to feedback that her newest performances have inappropriate, Miley told the Associated Press, “I’m not trying to be ‘slutty’… What I’m trying to do is to make a point with my record and look consistent, in the way my record sounds and the way I dress.”

Sure you are, Miley.
