Fox News and Bloomberg look to be neck-and-neck in the fight to claim Helen Thomas’ old spot at the head of the White House briefing room.
But they won’t have to battle it out for long. A memo obtained by FishBowl from White House Correspondents Association President David Jackson reveals when the decision on the seat will be made:
“The 2010-2011 Board of the White House Correspondents’ Association held its first meeting today and agreed to consider new seating requests for the James S. Brady Briefing Room.
After a brief evaluation period, the board hopes to make final seating decisions at a special meeting on Aug. 2.”
As the Daily Caller previously reported, veteran White House correspondent Helen Thomas resigned from the press corps after making inflammatory comments suggesting that Jews should return to Germany.
