Manhattan glaciers, Moscow heat wave highlight need for effective global warming rebuttal

News last week flickered across screens worldwide that a giant Greenland glacier was found floating in Arctic waters 600 miles south of the North Pole. Sloughed off (also called ‘calving) of the Petermann Glacier in Greenland and the biggest of its kind since 1962, the glacier clocked in at nearly 100 square miles. The main stream media along with the Loch Ness Global-Oven-Alarmists (aka AGW proponents) quickly gobbled up the story and approvingly stamped an ‘anthropogenic global warming’ seal of approval on the incident.

Several points of counterbalance to the global warming Manhattan iceberg are easily discovered. First, Obama’s chief science advisor John Holdren wrote an essay in 1971 in which he warned of the catastrophic, impending danger of a tidal wave caused by a cataclysmic Ice Age calving scenario. Also, Christopher Monckton released an SPPI study in 2009 that showed a startling downward trend in Arctic temperatures since the 1940s. The SPPI/Monckton study cited NASA research that attributed:

“unusual northbound currents and winds bringing warmth up from the tropics to the Arctic….(and) summertime Polar winds in 2007/2008 (that) had blown much of the sea ice southward into warmer waters, where it melted.”

Recent news of hundreds of daily deaths in Moscow caused by record heat was also quickly associated with global warming from the international press and government officials in Russia. A much different tune than the bizarre weather elicited during the previous winter months was played.

Yes, the same mainstream frozenly-rigid ideology (and not science) bastions like The New York Times rubber-stamped a cool global warming mark of approval on the historically cold winter by stating,”Climate scientists say that no individual episode of severe weather can be attributed to global climate trends.” Likewise, Russian government officials turned eyes and critical minds away from Russia’s record snow in February as well.

How about a global-warming-hot jolt of reality?

Science – from Latin: scientia, meaning “knowledge,” is a systematic enterprise of gathering knowledge about the world and organizing and condensing that knowledge into testable laws and theories.

The statist political movement propagating global warming is certainly a systematic enterprise. There is some knowledge gathered. But the ending laws and testable theories leak more water than a sieve. Given that you are an astute thinker (as you are reading this piece), does the theory of anthropogenic global warming hold up to the clear definition of cold, hard science above? Or is it simply the politics of state control, borne of overreaction to complicated weather patterns far beyond mankind’s control, and a power-shepherding tool of the ruling class?

If so – what can you do to debate the, myth, lies and culpable-media distortions?
