Santorum busy making plans for 2012 bid

As for his raison d’être to get in this race? There are potential GOP candidates like Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee, who might excite the social conservative base of the Republican Party, and there’s Mitt Romney, beloved for his business background. But while those candidates would have natural constituencies, Santorum suggested he’d portray himself as “a strong, principled conservative…that can unite our party, that can energize every aspect of our party,” including the fiscal, foreign policy and social conservative wings.

When it comes to those factions, Santorum says candidates dating back to Reagan have “been able to check the boxes,” though many didn’t appear to have “the passion or commitment across the board on all the issues that I think people in this day and age and this election cycle would like to see.”

So, this guy who couldn’t win an election in his own home state is looking to run for President? Can anyone remind me why we didn’t hear about George Allen in 2008? Or, for that matter, can anyone remind me what happened the last time a Presidential candidate lost his home state? I just can’t seem to remember…

On a more serious note, this guy needs to step aside. He will not be President. We just had a President who had to have on the job training and we can see everyday how well that has worked out. He’s a moron of epic proportions for doing this. If he wants to run and get some confidence, he can run for Governor of Pennsylvania then if he wins consider the Presidency, until then, sit on the sidelines and allow the people who have an actual chance of winning to continue and don’t take money that can be used to defeat Obama.

Stupid and divisive. The ultimate SoCon.

Sounds like a nominee that will guarantee an Obama re-election and a broken economy for another generation.

Repeat offender has it right. Rick is like Romney without the brains and money. His creepy religious act makes Mormons look Orthodox.

Sorry Rick, you’re as slippery as Romney. Don’t trust you. Give me a Ryan or a Rubio, someone that knows how to deal with money and the free-market system. Better still, someone that has run something. Look to the White house as a prime non-leadership, pay as you learn example. Show us a Governor or a business person ready, informed and prepared to fix this mess Obama, Pelosi and Reid are digging for us.

As a Pennsylvanian, let me say no, no, and HE!! NO to Rick Santorum. The people of our state kicked him to the curb years ago. He is a rejected RINO.

Funny, he was accusing McCain of the same thing two years ago (after gladly accepting McCain’s help with fundraising during his failed Senate campaign).

That’s the problem with these childish names to describe complex policy positions. Anyone can accuse anyone of being a “RINO” because they don’t like any of their given positions. It’s the ultimate dumb-down of philosophy.

I really like Rick but I dont see him as getting the nomination.
