Federal investigators are offering a $20,000 reward to anyone who can help identify the person or persons responsible for setting fire to construction equipment at the site of a future mosque south of Murfreesboro.
“Somebody knows something,” ATF agent Steven Gerido said during a Friday press conference at the site on Veals Road, off Bradyville Pike. “The money is a motivator.”
FBI agent Keith Moses said the FBI would not decide whether the arson was a hate crime — motivated by someone hoping to intimidate local Muslims — until after suspects are identified and motives are determined.
