The tropical system formerly known as Gaston will likely live again, though forecasters say dry air seems to be foiling that scenario for now.
Reports back from a research plane Monday showed wind speeds still below what it would take to rechristen the low pressure system Gaston, which formed on Wednesday but then dissipated on Thursday.
And while the National Hurricane Center warns of a 70 percent chance for Gaston to reform within the next 48 hours, spokesman Dennis Feltgen said Monday the would-be storm continued to struggle about 400 miles east of the Leeward Islands.
