If you’ve ever paid taxes, at some point you’ve probably said to yourself, “Man, they’d probably love it if I just gave the government all my money and let ’em decide how much to give back!”
That’s exactly what they want to do in the UK. CNBC reports:
The UK’s tax collection agency is putting forth a proposal that all employers send employee paychecks to the government, after which the government would deduct what it deems as the appropriate tax and pay the employees by bank transfer.
Isn’t that a great idea? Why wouldn’t you want to give the government direct access to your bank account, and let them decide how much of your hard-earned pay you get to keep from each and every paycheck? Why wouldn’t you want them to assume that what’s yours is yours only because they allow it?
Note to the Democrats* who can’t believe what’s happening to them this year: This is exactly the sort of attitude people are standing up against. They don’t care if a politician posed naked or said something stupid on TV or misspelled something in a tweet. They can see through your clumsy tricks and smell your flop sweat. They recognize tyranny for what it is, and they want it to stop.
*And certain Republicans. Didn’t mean to leave you out, Castle, Murkowski, et al.
