We now know quite a bit about Christine O’Donnell, who’s been vetted more thoroughly in the past week than Obama has been in the past… well, ever. But what about her Democratic opponent, and Harry Reid’s “pet,” Chris Coons? What sort of person is he?
LA blogger Patterico, who most recently served as Mark Levin’s punching bag for asking questions about O’Donnell’s background, has been learning more about Coons. He spoke to an environmental activist in Delaware named Alan Muller, who wrote this about Coons last March:
This is about evil. It could be a lot worse. It is not about people being dragged out of their homes in the middle of the night and tortured. It’s not about being locked up in a Delaware prison and murdered through denial of medical care. One can live with it and I’ve been doing so since about 2001.
But it’s evil enough in its own little way and the person currently causing our problems, New Castle County Executive Chris Coons, wants to be a United States Senator and apparently has the support of many people who don’t know what he really is.
A key point I want to make is that Coons, a rich boy with a law degree and a Master’s in Ethics from Yale Divinity School, is actually a much nastier, more manipulative, more dangerous, more special-interest-serving person than his thuggish predecessor Tom Gordon.
Yikes! Read the whole thing to find out why. Muller, who describes himself as “way over on the lefty liberal end of the political spectrum,” tells Patterico more about his problems with Coons. And he says:
I asked Muller if anyone has contacted him regarding his story. Local newspapers? National newspapers? Magazines? TV stations? Bloggers? The answer was no, at least not during this election. Nobody contacted him until I did. “There’s very little in the way of journalism happening in Delaware these days,” he told me.
Why bother? It’s a lot easier to take your cues from Bill Maher.
