Rahm Emanuel, the just-departed White House chief of staff, is now all but officially campaigning for mayor of Chicago. And he has the website to prove it.

“Welcome to ChicagoforRahm.com — Rahm Emanuel’s official website,” reads the site’s “Tell It Like It Is” blog. “Please check back tomorrow for a special video announcement from Rahm.”

Until that announcement, viewers of the site can read all of the glowing media coverage the departing adviser accrued, in addition to a full transcript and video of the president’s Friday remarks detailing Emanuel’s White House service and declaring him “extraordinarily well-qualified” to become Chicago’s next mayor.

The look of the website itself strikes some familiar design tones with a former campaign site. A side-by-side comparison with BarackObama.com, the present site of “Organizing for America”, which is operated by the Democratic National Committee, reveals some bold similarities. This includes nearly identical use of color scheme, font choice, and features layout.

The choice of design shouldn’t come as a surprise, though, considering Emanuel’s last boss utilized the web presence to generate a great deal of grassroots and financial support in his path to a White House victory.

Emanuel’s launch video will premier on the website Sunday.
