Yes, he actually said that:
“As the first congressional election during his party chairmanship approaches, Michael Steele is dancing as fast as he can trying to charm independent voters and Tea Partiers while never losing sight of his real master and paycheck provider, the Republican National Committee.”
It’s not racist if you say it about a Republican.
Hat tip to Mark Hemingway, who notes: “Try, if you can, to imagine the outrage if Bill O’Reilly or some other Fox News personality had gone the air and said that the Democratic party was Barack Obama’s ‘master.'” Yep. Conservatives are regularly accused of using “dog whistle words” that somehow prove they’re racist. Yet Bill Maher uses racial slurs on CNN and Larry O’Donnell goes on MSNBC and says a black man “dances for his master,” and somehow that proves they’re not racist.
Or maybe it just proves that nobody’s watching CNN or MSNBC…
