Even Velvet Underground rocker Maureen “Moe” Tucker is partying with the Tea Partiers down in Georgia.
A clip of Tucker giving an interview to a local television station as an everyday Tea Party activist has gone viral as fans have realized the woman is the former drummer for the 1960s band.
“I’m furious about the way we’re being led towards socialism,” Tucker said during that interview in April. “I’m furious about the incredible waste of money when things that we really need and are important get dropped because there’s no money left.”
A call made to a number listed for Maureen Tucker in Douglas, Ga. was not immediately returned. Tucker, however, has confirmed that she’s the activist in the news report.
