Rahm has access to magical polls

Rahm Emanuel, widely credited with building a large Democratic majority in the House, says he sees no reason why his party would lose a lot of seats in two weeks.

“I’ve been looking at the polls and I don’t see a single reason why Democrats can’t retain our strong House Majority with enough support,” Emanuel said in a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraising e-mail.

Emanuel, a former DCCC chairman, added that “dozens of Democratic House candidates are in the promising – but precarious – situation of trying to maintain a narrow lead in the final 14 days.”

The former White House chief of staff’s rosy assessment of Democrats’ chances in the upcoming election is at odds with the findings of every independent handicapper, who unanimously predict that Democrats will lose a large number of seats in the House and that Speaker Nancy Pelosi will likely have to give up her gavel.
