NPR fires Juan Williams over remarks made about Muslims on O’Reilly Factor

NPR has terminated the contract of long-time contributor Juan Williams over remarks he made on the O’Reilly Factor last night. On Monday night’s O’Reilly Factor Williams weighed in on Bill O’Reilly’s now infamous View appearance (watch the video below).

Williams: “Well, actually, I hate to say this to you because I don’t want to get your ego going. But I think you’re right. I think, look, political correctness can lead to some kind of paralysis where you don’t address reality.

“I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

Well, I guess Juan Williams is now a racist bigot since he is solely employed by Fox News. I have no doubt that Media Matters has already received the memo from David Axelrod so they can smear Juan Williams and start the damage control.

Also, I seem to recall that NPR gives frequent air time to Palestinian and Hezbolah leaders to rant about how the Jews are destroying the world and whatever crazy conspiracy theories they have about 9/11 being an inside job, planned by the Zionists to continue the genocide of Palestinians. But, who can really see the hatred behind statements like those? I used to listen to “This American Life” and “Wait Wait, don’t tell me”, along with giving them an annual $50 donation so they could continue making quality radio programming like those shows. They won’t be getting another dime from me now. See you later NPR, I hope you suffer the same financial disaster the NYT is going through.

BREAKING NEWS: NPR stricken with terminal bout of hypocrisy for firing uppity black man!

Not to sound like too much of a whiner or anything, but I’ve had a comment on this article “awaiting moderation” for over five hours. Can somebody at TheDC throw me a freaking bone over here?

Unfortunately Tucker decided to hire his moderators from the DMV. Personally I think it was a poor choice.

Try posting it again, one sentence at a time, or take out the offending words (if you can figure out which ones they are). Or, type it in code and we’ll have fun interpreting it!!

Perhaps if I translate it into Russian …

I found out that as I was typing an email to Juan to express my support for him and his family in this time of trouble for him, I found out he was calling me a racist. What irony, a racist TEA party member spending an email to Juan to offer my support.

If I boarded a plane and there were muslim passengers, I would get off the plane and take another flight.
