Allen West is airing a new ad questioning incumbent Florida Democratic Rep. Ron Klein’s spending record in Congress.

The ad, released on October 25, features Republican candidate and retired Lt. Colonel West saying that “this election comes down to a very simple choice.”

In the ad, West blasts Klein’s record of “raising taxes, government bailouts, failed stimulus gimmicks,” before professing a strong belief in the American spirit.

“I believe in the indomitable American spirit,” said West in the ad, “an entrepreneurial spirit based upon investment, ingenuity and innovation that will create and sustain long term economic growth in the United States of America.”

In a hotly contested race for Florida’s 22nd Congressional district, attacks have been frequent from both sides. During the past month, West’s campaign has aired eight separate television ads and in a September attack against West, a flier was sent out by the Florida Democratic Party which included West’s Social Security number. West responded in a press release saying, “incumbent Ron Klein has just sunk to an unprecedented new low in American politics.” NBC Nightly News also recently aired a report connecting West to the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.

On October 25, Mitt Romney’s Free & Strong America PAC endorsed West as one of 30 House races to watch. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin also gave her support to West seven months ago.

West is polling three points ahead of Klein, but the race is considered a “Toss-up/Tilt Democrat” according to The Rothenberg Political Report. The election between Klein and West was named one of the 12 House races to watch by Politico.
