Getting down and dirty on screen takes a lot of concentration. Just not always on the things you might think.

For Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, the focus of their first sex scene in upcoming comedy “Love & Other Drugs” was not so much one another as it was a pot. On a stool.

“We were, like, fake having sex and being like, ‘Knock the pot off, knock the pot off,'” Gyllenhaal, 29, told Entertainment Weekly of the carnal kitchen romp. “I was not focusing on her at all and instead focusing on knocking the f—ing pot off for Ed [the director].”

“The lack of clothing meant that there wasn’t a lot of padding, so I was constantly bruised,” Hathaway laughed in the interview.

The “Prince of Persia” star and Hathaway, 28, play opposite one another in the love story about a free-spirited woman named Maggie (Hathaway) who finds her noncommittal counterpart in Viagra pharmaceutical sales rep Jamie (Gyllenhaal).
