Another Republican insider is gunning for RNC Chairman Michael Steele’s job.

ABC News has learned that former RNC Political Director Gentry Collins has taken the first step toward running for RNC Chairman, filing papers with the IRS to create a 527 fund-raising committee called “Collins for Chairman.”

Collins caused quite a stir last week when he abruptly resigned from the RNC, accusing current RNC Chairman Michael Steele of mismanaging the RNC and “allowing its major donor base to whither.”
