Believe it or not, Thanksgiving marks the one year anniversary of the beginning of the Tiger Woods scandal.

Indeed, an entire year has passed since reports surfaced on the day after Thanksgiving that Tiger was in an accident and had suffered serious injuries.  The story that then unfolded caused the most universally praised athlete in the world to suddenly become the most universally mocked man alive.

Despite the unfolding of nearly every detail of Tiger’s foul play, many questions remain.  We still don’t know why, for example, Tiger was in the Escalade that night, or why he ran over a fire hydrant and into a tree in his own driveway at 2:25 a.m.  One can imagine his wife, Elin, had just learned of his extracurricular affairs, but we can’t say for sure. We also still remain unsure of how Tiger’s career will pan out in the future. This past season, he didn’t come close to winning a tournament — an absurd concept just a year ago — and off the course, things could be even worse.

Woods has taken steps recently to further revive his image: he’s now on Twitter, has been on a variety of radio shows and even recently wrote an op-ed on how he’s “redefined victory.” Despite that, has a long way to go.

Here’s a look back at the year that the mystique of Tiger Woods unraveled — the year that the #1 golfer in the world lost his ranking, his marriage and let the world in on far more than they ever wanted to know regarding his personal life.
