Obama may delay Christmas trip to Hawaii to sign tax bill

President Obama was planning to kick back with some golf and fun in the sun in Hawaii this weekend, but instead he might be stuck in Washington watching Congress duke it out.

Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday that if Congress does not finish its lame-duck session by Friday, Obama won’t hit the road for his planned Christmas holiday Kailua, a city near Honolulu.

“I think the President is hopeful to spend a little time with family and friends in Hawaii, but if Congress is here, the President will be here,” Gibbs said.
