Mayor Bloomberg says he will ‘investigate’ blizzard sabotage

Mayor Bloomberg will order a probe into allegations that Sanitation Department told drivers to snarl the cleanup effort to protest budget cuts, saying this morning it “would be an outrage” if workers intentionally did not clear streets.

“We’re going to investigate,” Bloomberg said at a news conference in Queens when updating reporters on the latest blizzard cleanup effort.

The Post reported today that a group of guilt-ridden sanitation workers confessed their protest plot to City Councilman Dan Halloran (R-Queens).

The workers were fuming over recent job cuts and cutbacks, the councilman and other sources told The Post.

Ya, uh huh – “investigate” sure he will, until Guido and Mickey “da Knife” come over for a “private” meeting.

I think he’s too lazy to take any action, much less “investigate”.

  • recidivist

The Mayor needs to fire the whole lot of these union idiots and bring in a private company like Waste Management or someone just like the real cities do in the US. Using sanitation trucks/workers for snow plowing, Sheeesh… yeah, that’s efficiency.

I think Bloomberg’s political career is over. After illustrating that he can not even control the employees of his city, how could any one consider him for a higher office. The unions are no different, better or worse than ever. I would say that their behavior is only typical low brow union stuff – the problem is the man that employs these people can not manage them. Lives are a risk.

Too late for Bloomberg. This will be in the minds of New Yorkers and the whole country for a LONG time to come. He will CERTAINLY never be up for President. The guy sat on his Zionist duff and did nothing, when many actions could have been taken to alleviate the suffering on the tarmacs and in the city. The snow-plow unions should be FIRED, like Reagan did with the Air Traffic Controllers. Bet there would never be another strike like THAT again.

Perhaps the guilty workers don’t know alot about economics, but they shot themselves in the foot. Their stunt cost the American people alot of dollars in related economic losses. Therefore there will be even LESS money in the city coffers to go around. Thus probably MORE job cuts and cutbacks. Stupid.

Looks like the best efforts of Bloomberg, union thugs, and the AP/NY Times has failed to sweep this one under the snowplow. Too much heat; thank you city councilman Halloran. New Yorkers should elect him mayor.

This is a JOKE. When will CORRUPTION be recognized for what it really is. BLOOMBERG = UNIONS = CORRUPTION = STEALING YOUR MONEY.

  • SharpestJim

Bloomberg should sue God. After all, had it not been for God, there would have been no blizzard in the first place.

    • leilani

Now, now. Perhaps we shouldn’t be too quick to blame God for this act of blizzardism.

As Bloomberg himself might suggest, it could just as easily have been a homegrown blizzardist or “a mentally deranged person or someone with a political agenda that doesn’t like the health care bill or something.”

      • erehwon

@leilani, I think you forgot to put in your ‘irony’ tags — [irony] and [/irony]

Be that as it may, I like the turn of phrase, ‘… act of blizzardism.’

        • leilani

erehwon, I’m a charter member of that squishy new political movement No Tags. ;-)

But you do have to wonder if the Radical Blizzardists tried to build an ice sculpture where that newborn died the other day because the ambulance couldn’t get through the unplowed streets to get there in time, whether Bloomie would be quite so thrillled about such a deliberately provocative & gratuitously insensitive act as he’s been about that mosque his friends are trying to build at Ground Zero.

I have to laugh at the “No Labels” fiasco. The Rothschilds who own BOTH political parties, the president, and the FEDERAL RESERVE (which is NOT a federal agency, but is a PRIVATE bank) are afraid they’re losing control of Congress to the grass-roots tea party movement. SO….they are finally offering you another choice, which will ALSO be controlled by them.
