TheDC Exclusive: Michele Bachmann on presidential possibility, new Congress

Bachmann is sponsoring legislation to repeal the Dodd-Frank financial reform and co-sponsoring the repeal of Obamacare with Iowa Republican Congressman Steve King. She told TheDC the repeal of Obamacare is a higher priority than repealing the Dodd-Frank financial reforms, but Dodd-Frank is a “very close second.”

“Both of them are very important. They’re job-killers. Dodd-Frank means the end of free checking for people of the United States,” Bachmann said. “It means higher ATM fees. It means a scarcity of credit. It’s a very bad bill that’s going to kill jobs and help the economy. It helps Barney Frank, but it doesn’t help too many other people, so it’s very important that we repeal that bill and I’ll be working hard on that as well as working hard to repeal Obamacare.”

Bachmann thinks the Congressional Budget Office estimate that repealing Obamacare would increase the deficit by $230 billion is accurate only because the numbers Democrats gave the CBO make it look that way.

“I agree with CBO in that they have to work with the numbers they’re given. It’s kind of like the equation of ‘garbage in, garbage out’ of the computer,” Bachmann said. “The numbers that were given by the Democrats to the CBO were garbage figures.”

Hey guys! The article is about a woman talking on the options the GOP has for a presidential candidate. There’s little in there to make someone think it’s about her as a nominee(besides perhaps real-life experience with such discourses).

I won’t focus that much on principles here, but on behavior. Have you noticed how much like a zombie Mr. Obama seems to behave on many occasions. He’s definitely a changed man since he took office.

E.g. 1)Remember the fly incident(s) when after a unknown-and-unheard-of group of nutcases cried against him smashing a fly, he let another one escape??? You know those flies that transmit so many diseases and that could have made a bird or dog happy if smashed and thrown to the garbage. His ear was very sensitive to that group but totally deaf to millions of more relevant complaints from citizens.
    2) Try and read the press release on how he quit smoking… Is it just me or it sounded pretty weird. Moreover now he’s done writing a children book and got to advertise it in a kindergarten. Like the grandpa of the nation! I guess he’s got a lot of free time with things going so smoothly in the US and abroad. And so on, and so forth!
    3) There’s a series of mind-boggling statements, postures and attitudes he made. Some point to a rather panicked man(/country). Others suggest he and the US are some sort of a lackey.

LOL I wonder whether he took some pills to quit smoking and for how long. LOL
In any case he’s changed: he looks less and less like the prodigy he claimed to be and more and more like an insecure and overwhelmed frail man. Perhaps being the president of the US it’s too big a hat for him after all (?!).

I don’t take this necessarily as a sign that Bachmann wants to run for President. Pretty ridiculous assumption it seems. Ever think she is going to Iowa to help set things up for who is going to run? Obama and the left are going to pull all kinds of crap and we need to be prepared. I think all Bachmann is doing is helping smooth the way for a strong conservative who gets in the race. We don’t want another RINO.

    • brian61

I agree. It seems that you can no longer visit Iowa unless you intend to run for POTUS. What a great marketing slogan for the Iowa Board of Tourism: Come to Iowa; Become President.

What I like about Bachman, though, it her focus on the Constitution. And have you noticed the liberals’ responses to the new emphasis on the Constitution: (1) the Constitution is too old to understand, and (2) the Constitution is no longer relevant for today, or (3) the Constitution is racist. Keep it up Libs, these arguments are sure to win the day!

You Go Michele.!!!! and if possible, let alone probable, the American Patriotic Constitutional Conservative Republicans, Independents, Libertarians, and all the Tea Party Folks, will have a Dream Presidential Ticket next year of Gov. Sarah Palin as President, and Rep. Michele Bachmann as VP.
    That’s the Ticket..!!!
Well, at least that’s my Dream Ticket..!!

    • scorpioman

Obviously it’s your ticket to a spasmodic and convulsive wet dream.

  • redbankrick

Man we wouldn’t win one atate.

  • TruePatriot

Yeah Her and Sarah Palin…. This country has a bright future…Hope the second coming is real SOON !!!

I hate to see effective conservatives abandon their current position and jump right to the SuperBowl of politics. Michelle Bachman is probably my 1st choice of any conservative for POTUS. But it seems like anytime a conservative hits a reporter with a zinger, or gives a good speech, or upsets some liberal we demand they go immediately to the head of the class. That has the perverse effect of cleaning out the minor leagues and possibly sacrificing our best players before they have the experience to win. Think Chris Christie. He’s awesome, but many want him to run in 2012. Our “guys” need to demonstrate the ability to stay on offense and a steay record of accomplishment. If one of our rising stars runs too soon and loses that star is a dud.

We need superstars everywhere, not all running for POTUS. You can’t win the SuperBowl if every coach and player is trying to be quarterback/MVP

Michele is making several good points. The Republican party should listen to her and take her advice. As for running for the GOP nomination? I think Michele should go with her first instincts, and run for Senate.

  • riseabove

Nice isn’t going to cut it, Michelle.

The dynamics involved between the Left and the Right are not unlike police detectives who have to learn how to think like thieves, lowlifes and scumbags in order to catch them without crossing certain lines. Let’s hope any Conservative candidates out there understands that and prepares ahead of time to be met with the skewed, twisted, ugly, dirty, deceptive, irrational, unreasonable, insane, inane and vicious rhetoric of any upcoming debates and campaigns.

true. the left has the media on their side. and also they often resort to dirty, sneaky, and personal attacks. they will try anything. hopefully michele is strong enough.
did you see her debate weiner on hannity? i thought she did okay but she could have been stronger and more combative.
you know what just occurred to me? it would be so interesting if palin was the one who debated weiner… hahaha

      • riseabove

Yes, Jasmine…I saw that and that’s what prompted me to write what I did because I’ve gone up against people like Weiner and they’ll use every trick in the book to catch you off-guard or twist things around, even resorting to personal attacks. They try to dominate the conversation and think if they talk louder or interrupt more then they’ve won. We basically have adults trying to have mature conversations with 5th graders. It’s really sickening to watch if our people aren’t prepared.

yep that describes weiner perfectly… lol

  • NeoKong

    I like her.
She has an honesty about her that you can feel. She is genuine.
She says what she means and means what she says. We need twenty more.

    Go get em’ Michele.

    • GeniousIQ

She’s genuine all right. Genuinely dumb.

      • Patrick Henry

        From the Urban Dictionary:
It is often the case that idiots describe themselves as ‘genious’ but are ironically ignorant to the fact that the word is spelt ‘genius’ – much to the amusement of us intelligent people.
“Like, woah, yeah man, I’m like, such a genious, dude!”
        “Well, you’re retarded…”

        Enough said,”Genious”

        • GeniousIQ

It is also often the case that someone shows their complete inability to understand sarcasm.
