New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has joined House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and President Obama in contributing to the “It Gets Better” campaign. Sex columnist Dan Savage launched the campaign four months ago to “provide hope for lesbian, gay, bi, trans and other bullied teens by letting them know that ‘It Gets Better.'”

In a new YouTube video that advises viewers to move to New York, Bloomberg says: “Right now, there may be some of you feeling like there’s no hope, or that you’re not wanted. Well, I have a message for you. New York City wants you. New York has always been the place where anyone can go and be who they are supposed to be regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender or sexual identity.”

“We need your enthusiasm, your ideas, your passion and your talents, and so do lots of other places around the country and the world,” Bloomberg adds.

Bloomberg’s office said it shoots video every day and no additional costs were incurred with the “It Gets Better” spot. “The video was produced in-house for the ‘It Gets Better’ campaign,” Mark LaVorgna, state spokesman for Bloomberg, told The Daily Caller.

Other political figures who have come forward in support of the “It Gets Better” campaign include British Prime Minister David Cameron and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
