Michigan GOP leader Anuzis considers 2012 run against Stabenow

Sen. Debbie Stabenow may have some competition in her 2012 re-election bid from a familiar face as Michigan Republican party leader Saul Anuzis considers his next move.

Anuzis, who lost his second bid for chair of the Republican National Committee to Reince Priebus, who runs the GOP party in Wisconsin, said on “Michigan Matters” he was considering a run against the Democratic leader.

“I haven’t ruled anything out,” said Anuzis, who has spent a big chunk of his time since losing the top GOP job to Michael Steele two years ago to try and win it.
