President Obama did say he was “eager” to work with critics of his health-care law in his State of the Union address Tuesday.
One freshman congressman is taking the president at his word, requesting a one-on-one meeting with Obama a day later.
“I accept your invitation to work together, Mr. President, and request a meeting with you to discuss this most important issue facing our nation,” says Rep. Bobby Schilling, Illinois Republican, in a Jan. 26 letter.
“As a small business owner and father of ten, I am just one example of the many Americans directly affected by the negative provisions in the health care law,” Schilling says.
