Slain Pentagon official’s family feels snubbed by police

Family members of a Pentagon official found dead in a Delaware landfill said they feel like detectives working on the case are not being forthcoming with them.

An attorney said John Wheeler’s family has requested forensic reports, search warrants and surveillance video related to the case. Investigators said they want to keep information sealed and out of the media.

Wheeler’s body was found in a Delaware landfill Dec. 31.  A medical examiner determined Wheeler died of blunt force trauma injuries. The family lawyer said they only learned of the coroner’s findings through media reports.
