An unnamed British woman has died from medical complications after flying to the states for an illegal backroom buttock-enhancement procedure, reports the New York Daily News.
The woman reportedly went to a Philadelphia, PA Hampton Inn hotel to have the backroom surgery. Upon receiving silicone injections, she complained of chest pains and was taken to a hospital, where she died Tuesday morning. The medical examiner told NBC that the silicone injections were the woman’s preliminary cause of death.
Police have not released the name of the party who reserved rooms at the hotel or the identity of the person who administered the silicone. The deceased British woman was one of four women who traveled across the Atlantic earlier this month to have the illegal surgery.
